About Sonya

Whether she's singing or playing the piano, Sonya’s sound is unique and undeniably gifted. “I’m biracial and was exposed to all kinds of music as a child. My heartbeat is for gospel and R&B, so those styles ooze out in everything I do.” Sonya’s mix of black gospel and R&B provides a rich vocal and church-inspired experience for music lovers across all genres.

Sonya's work ethic and commitment to musicianship set her apart from the crowd. She has a B.A. in Music Business from Anderson University and encourages music education for all ages. With her music business background, her passion for aiding music programs is infectious.

Her musical influences? A wide array including L.A. Mass Choir, Hezekiah Walker, Stevie Wonder, and Yolanda Adams. Let’s not forget Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. The list goes on . . . Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, The Eagles, Elton John and more!

An Indiana native, Sonya currently resides in Nashville, TN. She is working on more original music with studio recording material on the horizon!
